Homer

　　Homer, the author of The Iliad and The Odyssey, is considered the greatest of the ancient Greek poets.

　　The painting is entitled "Homer and His Guide" by William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825–1905). It portrays Homer on Mount Ida, where he is harassed by dogs and aided by Glaucus the goatherder.
