Translated by William George Aston and published in A History of Japanese Literature, Chapter IV (1899). I come weary was written by Matsuo Basho in 1688. Basho was considered the master of the haiku poetry form.
I come weary

  I come weary, In search of an inn— Ah! these wisteria flowers!
