Set in the turbulent days of Elizabeth I, this classic story of danger and intrigue conjures up a world of mystery, twists and turns and thrilling action.
This book is aimed at teenage lads but it's such a great read the whole family will enjoy it.
—— The Sun , The SunI was pretty excited when I heard that this book was like Terminator meets X-Men. What a premise! Luckily, Monster Republic delivered the non-stop action promised, and moved along at a very quick speed. As a bonus, Random House have included a few pages of art at the back, which made imagining the characters and settings that much easier.
—— Jenny Davis , Wondrous Reads BlogThis book would also make an awesome movie! It would look amazing on the big screen, I seriously wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being optioned. And what's more, I don't think there would need to be anything cut from the book - it's a pretty quick read, and the plot is very tight, I could literally see the whole book on the screen. To sum up, Monster Republic: The Divinity Project is an awesome book, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
—— Jo , Once Upon a Bookcase BlogIt's a fast paced action-packed book; the short chapters and great dialogue keep the book bouncing along...The book will appeal to many a reader and is a very exciting start to a new series. The next book has so much scope, it will be one of the many great books which I will be looking forward to... I will give this four out of five - a captivating read with many possibilities for the next one.
—— Mr Ripley's Enchanted Books , Mr Ripley's Enchanted BooksI have a feeling that this book is going to be hugely popular in 2010! I highly recommend it, so when it's released, go guy it, you won't be disappointed!
—— Carolyn , Book Chick City BlogMonster Republic is a fast-paced and exciting novel. Ben Horton has succeeded in creating a highly original alternative reality populated by blissfully ignorant "average" folks above ground and below ground by an intriguing ensemble cast that the book blurb accurately describes as a "blend of X-Men meets Terminator"...Ending on a cliff-hanger that is sure to leave readers desperate to read more, Monster Republic is a great start to what is sure to be a popular series.
—— Erin , Book Geek BlogI'm generally weary of books that market themselves by utilising film titles in the sell that perhaps isn't ideal to the market audience to which the title is originally aimed...That said, I was more than pleasantly surprised by this offering by Ben...It's definitely something a little different to many of the titles out there and once the marketing has been thrown to the wolves a pretty good offering.
—— Falcata Times , Falcata TimesAs a book for children I think this is a great read - it's got enough happening from page to page to keep their concentration and will very much appeal to comic book superhero fans. With more books in the series to look forward to I think this could be a great hit with young boys - and older ones too :)." Overall rating: 8/10
—— Mark Chitty , Walker of Worlds BlogThis one starts off at a gallop and doesn't falter once. Take a break and allow yourself this as a weekend guilty pleasure. You know you want to.
—— Thomas Murphy , FlipsideThis is a future bestseller and an amazing start to a new series ...
—— Wordsmith , WordsmithDido is compelling and beautifully written
—— So Little Time For BooksWhat a fantastic job Adel Geras has done bringing these characters to life
—— Sarah's Book ReviewsFull of suspense and the characters were written so well that you were really pulled into their lives
—— Chrissie's CornerThe book comes billed as "a passionate tale of love, betrayal and revenge" - and it is indeed, an excellent, intelligent read which will stretch minds just as it will stretch vocabularies. It is vivid in the world it creates, intriguing as it takes you there and satisfying when it leaves you
—— Chichester TodayAdele Geras gave us brilliant evocations of the ancient world with Troy and Ithaka. With Dido she again takes a classical setting and story and breathes freshness, and above all an up-to-date connection, into the people and the places whilst skilfully remaining faithful to her sources
