The first ever all-female BBC radio 2 sketch show
Three top actresses show off their comedic talents in the very first all-women sketch show written for BBC Radio 2. In these six episodes, Lynda Bellingham, Gwyneth Strong and Joanna Monro present a feast of skits and music with a distinctly feminist flavour.
Highlights include the 'Classic Serial' strand, featuring strangely familiar titles such as Madame Ovary, Lady Chatterbox's Lover and Donna Karenina; and 'The History of Feminism', in which we learn the truth about Florence Nightingale, suffragettes, women drivers and Boadicea.
Voyage into space with the Starship Menopause, boldly going where no middle-aged woman has gone before; thrill to the adventures of special agent Jane Blonde, as she takes on evil gynaecologist Coldfinger; and don't miss consumer report show Whichdog's probing investigations into faulty relationships and alien abductions.
There's also a look back to the days before DNA testing, the launch of the new, life-like 'My Little Husband' toy, a glimpse of life in an Australian women's prison, a guide to putting the action back into admin - and the real stories of Goldilocks and Sleeping Beauty.
With quirky, catchy songs from Britain's Got Talent star Lorraine Bowen, plus jokes, spoofs and sketches galore, Heated Rollers' smooth comic stylings will create waves of fun and laughter.

—— Alice- Azania JarvisJACKIE COLLINS, BUT BETTER Sacrilege to say "better", I know, but there we are. Set in the 1980s, Taylor Jenkins Reid's Malibu Rising is wonderfully written, intensely evocative and concerns the model/ surfer children of a rock star. Tons of glamour, tons of sharply observed insights about sibling relationships, plus a massive party. Beach read par excellence. See also her brilliant Daisy Jones & the Six, which is heaven (more rock stars).
