Medusa

Medusa is Clive Cussler's eighth NUMA files novel featuring hero Kurt Austin.

In the Micronesian Islands, a top-secret US undersea lab vanishes . . .

At the same time, off Bermuda, a bathysphere operated by NUMA and overseen by Kurt Austin is attacked and becomes stranded half a mile below the surface. Only quick thinking and bold action will save the crew - which includes the head of a certain, now-missing undersea lab - from a watery grave.

Austin is convinced both events are connected, and he puts NUMA on the case. Soon he's uncovering some hideous medical experiments and evidence of a terrifying virus that could be used to create a worldwide pandemic. Behind it all lies an ambitious Chinese criminal organization prepared to commit mass murder to achieve its ends.

Now Austin must put his life on the line in order that millions will be saved from death . . .

Clive Cussler, author of the best-selling Dirk Pitt novels Arctic Drift and Trojan Odyssey, and co-author Paul Kemprecos put their hero, Kurt Austin, at the forefront of a battle against time and global pandemic in Medusa, the eighth novel of the action-packed NUMA Files series.

Praise for Clive Cussler:

Reviews

Ambitious... as well as being an intricately detailed crime narrative this is a powerful state-of-the-nation novel. Those who feel that crime fiction can tackle truly serious issue should pay close attention to Persson's magnum opus

A masterpiece of political and police intrigue

—— Yorkshire Evening Post

Reminiscent of Henning Mankell and Stieg Larsson in its toughness... A philosophically charged tale worthy of Ingmar Bergman-but with lots more guns

—— Kirkus Reviews (starred)

—— Il Sole 24 Ore

A teeth-gritting political thriller... Authentic with silent anger, tough and utterly haunting

—— Berliner Morgenpost

Tom Benn's debut novel is a long overdue good thing in many senses... and there is much to recommend, not least Benn's sturdy grip on vernacular... What's more , he's a good writter of action - a scene in the top room of a nightclub on Deansgate early in the novel is particularly good

—— Bookmunch

The Doll Princess is a promising, foul-mouthed debut in which gangsters and good guys fight for supremacy in a Manchester that resembles a war zone

—— Julia Handford , Seven (Supplement to Sunday Telegraph)

immerse yourself in the language and the rhythm of the narrative and you're in for a fast and consuming ride through dark territory

—— Keith Walters , Booksandwriters

a crime novel unlike any other; the voices of real people can be heard throughout its pages

—— Kathryn Flagner , We love this book

It is bursting with classic Gothic horror motifs and Susan Hill is a master of atmospheric descriptions. She evokes so cleverly the decrepit Eel Marsh House, the mention of its name enough to make the locals pause, their faces darken in unspoken wariness… The Woman in Black gives a thrilling sense of unease and provides just the right level of things that go bump in the night for a spine-tingling good read.

—— Khoollect

This spine-tingling novel… will certainly keep your nerves jangling

—— Woman's Weekly

An excellent ghost story...magnificently eerie...compulsive reading

—— Evening Standard

She writes with great power, authentically chilling

—— Daily Telegraph

One of the most popular British ghost stories of modern times

—— Observer
