This book is aimed at teenage lads but it's such a great read the whole family will enjoy it.

I was pretty excited when I heard that this book was like Terminator meets X-Men. What a premise! Luckily, Monster Republic delivered the non-stop action promised, and moved along at a very quick speed. As a bonus, Random House have included a few pages of art at the back, which made imagining the characters and settings that much easier.

This book would also make an awesome movie! It would look amazing on the big screen, I seriously wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being optioned. And what's more, I don't think there would need to be anything cut from the book - it's a pretty quick read, and the plot is very tight, I could literally see the whole book on the screen. To sum up, Monster Republic: The Divinity Project is an awesome book, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

It's a fast paced action-packed book; the short chapters and great dialogue keep the book bouncing along...The book will appeal to many a reader and is a very exciting start to a new series. The next book has so much scope, it will be one of the many great books which I will be looking forward to... I will give this four out of five - a captivating read with many possibilities for the next one.

I have a feeling that this book is going to be hugely popular in 2010! I highly recommend it, so when it's released, go guy it, you won't be disappointed!

Monster Republic is a fast-paced and exciting novel. Ben Horton has succeeded in creating a highly original alternative reality populated by blissfully ignorant "average" folks above ground and below ground by an intriguing ensemble cast that the book blurb accurately describes as a "blend of X-Men meets Terminator"...Ending on a cliff-hanger that is sure to leave readers desperate to read more, Monster Republic is a great start to what is sure to be a popular series.

I'm generally weary of books that market themselves by utilising film titles in the sell that perhaps isn't ideal to the market audience to which the title is originally aimed...That said, I was more than pleasantly surprised by this offering by Ben...It's definitely something a little different to many of the titles out there and once the marketing has been thrown to the wolves a pretty good offering.

As a book for children I think this is a great read - it's got enough happening from page to page to keep their concentration and will very much appeal to comic book superhero fans. With more books in the series to look forward to I think this could be a great hit with young boys - and older ones too :)." Overall rating: 8/10

This one starts off at a gallop and doesn't falter once. Take a break and allow yourself this as a weekend guilty pleasure. You know you want to.
